The Bridge – London Bridge Fertility, Gynaecology & Genetics Centre

Before choosing London Bridge IVF for your treatment. Our patients consider having their IVF both abroad & in the UK with a clinic like the bridge centre.  By choosing a combination of taking your main procedure at one of our European clinics supported with ultra-sound scans at your local clinic (London Bridge), makes for a much more convenient & affordable experience. Plus many patients report that traveling abroad for IVF in Spain or Prague really helps them deal with the stress caused by IVF. Many of our patients who consider the London Bridge IVF centre will often choose our Barcelona clinic as well as London Bridge for its world class reputation and high success rates.

london bridge fertilitySo-called because the centre overlooks the beautiful London Bridge, this clinic is as multi-faceted as the capital itself and aims to offer both NHS and private patients a tailored service that takes their well-being into account every step of the way. The London Bridge Fertility clinic reviews these process continually, to improve their patient care.

Part of this offer involves providing alternative therapies such as acupuncture and a 10-week Mind/Body programme that is designed to prepare patients for treatment and give them the mental strength to see them through the most stressful times. Sounds like it’s just for hippies? Well, London Bridge reckons that it has seen acupuncture improve pregnancy rates, although in general it is an area of ongoing research.

London Bridge Fertility hosts a full range of services, including a broad range of diagnostic tests, treatments and screening procedures. To give an indication of pricing, a cycle of IVF here costs £3,300. A women able and willing to donate her spare eggs to another couple however, will receive her IVF cycle for free. A host of in-house counsellors will help get you through the hard decisions and stressful times with their expertise. Relationship counselling and psycho-sexual therapy is also available for couples experiencing difficulties in their relationship alongside the stress of fertility treatment.

Regular PESA (Percutaneous Epididymal Sperm Aspiration – a bit of a mouthful) and TESE (Testicular Sperm Extraction) clinics offer accessible appointments to men with a zero sperm count. These techniques – not offered by many clinics – extract sperm directly from the testicles using a small needle or by taking a biopsy. Brings a tear to the eye, doesn’t it?

London bridge is keen to create a community and offer as much support as possible to its patients, which is reflected in its packed schedule of courses, open evenings and presentations. They are linked to fertility centres in Ukraine and the USA where their patients can get immediate access to high quality, donated eggs from overseas where patients are allowed to pay for eggs. In parallel, they are building up an egg sharing programme amongst patients undergoing IVF in the UK in which women can offer their spare eggs in return for free egg freezing and storage of their eggs for future use, appropriately called Freeze and Share. Bridge even subsidises egg and sperm freezing and storage to serving members of the British Armed Forces, to help them make provisions for their partners to start a family despite their possible injury or death – a novel scheme.

The location of Bridge makes it really easy to get to for anyone living in London, and is also near London Bridge and Waterloo train stations, from which run lines to the south of the capital.
